Bluffing Your Way to a Poker Win
If you have been playing poker for quite a time (but still consider yourself a newbie), you might have heard about bluffing. What is bluffing in poker? That is exactly what you will learn here.
Bluffing in poker is considered as one of the helpful tips to raise a weak hand against other players and when other players accept your bluff you are on the way to winning the pot. Bluffing is pretending in poker. You will most likely pretend that you have a good hand or make others think you have a good hand. Bluffing is raising your weak hand and others thinking your hand of cards is better than what it actually is.
Bluffing is a must-have skill in poker because it is not always that you get a good hand. And it would not be helpful either that you give up or quite because your cards are not worth it. Learning to bluff is like maximizing your chances of winning whatever cards you have at hand. Plus, bluffing can add more excitement to a game.
But you need not employ bluffing all the time. If you always bluff, other players may already have known your strategy and will challenge your card and so you might end up losing instead. Use buff wisely.
If you also do not bluff, your style also becomes predictable. If other players are able to discern what you usually do then your chances of winning decreases. Bluff would be a very valuable choice when you have a low chance of winning and all cards have been dealt according and what you want to do is steal the pot.
Bluff is also a way to fatten the pot. By continually raising, more and more money is placed into the pot. And if you are good at bluffing, other players will believe you have a high card and you fold only to find out that you have a lower card.
And yes, do not bluff if your opponents are weak or are not smart enough. You called for a raise hoping to increase the pot but the other players instead folded immediately. Okay, you won the game but only small money was placed into the pot. If you bluff when the pot is large then the reward will be big too.
And so now you know that bluffing is pretending you have strong hand when in fact you don't. When you successfully fooled other players in believing you have a good hand then you have an increased chance of winning the pot. Unless your players are smart enough, go raise the money in the pot to get a bigger reward later on.
