The Texas Holdem Tournaments Featured in the First World Poker Tour Season
Since its inception as one of the major events in poker, the World Poker Tour is already filled with very exciting and prestigious Texas Holdem tournaments. It showed a wonderful glimpse and promise of the greater things to come. After that, there seems to be no looking back for the tour as it continues to follow up one excellent tourney with another. The careful planning of things and rightful execution of details are evident in the success that the tour achieved since its very start.
The very first season of the tour started with a powerful tournament at the beautiful auspices of the Bellagio casino hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Five Diamond World Poker Classic made an immediate impact on the game, as it seriously won the attention and interest of countless people all over the world. It really showed that there are greater things to come in the future.
The Bicycle Casino Legends of Poker was the second Texas Holdem tournament in-stored for the first season of the tour. The Bell Gardens-casino hotel played host to a follow-up event to the initial success of the World Poker Tour. At the end of the event, a legend is expect to emerge after the dust has settled completely in what was deemed as the ultimate showdown between the upcoming legends of poker.
With another brilliant finish at the second stop for the first season of the tour, a strong push is needed in order for the World Poker Tour to make a major impact on the gaming world. True enough, it launched the Aruba Poker Classic as its third Texas Holdem tournament. The roster of events proved to be much greater as the Costa Rica Classic at Casinos Europa, Gold Rush at the Lucky Chances Casino, and World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Resort and Casino completed the first half of the season.
Despite moving deep into the season, the succeeding three tournaments were still very significant and amazing. The Gold Strike Casino Hotel in Mississippi played host to the World Poker Open. The Euro Finals of Poker immediately followed, this time held at the Aviation Club de France in Paris. Not to be outdone, the L.A. Poker Classic added color to the season with a fine showing at the Commerce Casino in California.
The final three events leading to the poker championship at the end of the season was very intense. With the pace of the competition aptly described as unrestrained, people cannot but help themselves get a closer look at the final moments of the season. All eyes were set to the WPT Invitational, PartyPoker Million, and World Poker Challenge Texas Holdem tournaments. The season ended with a strong one at the WPT World Championship at the Bellagio, won dramatically by Alan Goehring.
